Our stay at Henrietta’s was gorgeous. Kerri met us and showed us around telling us stories of the place and how it came to be. Pretty amazing history and effort to get it back to looking so fine. They place is so comfortable, clean and luxurious. Really enjoyed the bathroom, the bathrobes and plentiful towels and especially the spa. I want that spa. Could spend days on the porch on the huge, comfortable couch for taking in the sunset over the valley. We breakfasted in Castlemaine but cooked our dinners in the kitchen. Loved the benchtop, wow. In all, exactly what we needed for our weekend getaway, thankyou!

Henrietta’s was such a wonderful stay. The host, Kerri was a great host, who provided information & history of the fully renovated place & surrounds. The home is a labour of love no doubt! The home’s Art Deco pieces & a little modern touch, blended well! I truly recommend this place for a quiet getaway or if you love exploring the Goldfields area, there are so many places to visit. I would definitely return !!

Staying at Henrietta’s B&B was a dream. After a scenic country drive, we were met on arrival by our host, the lovely Kerri, who gave us a tour of the house and told us its incredibly rich history. Built in 1917, the house boasts an array of historical details and modern creature comforts. Henrietta’s comes equipped with all you could ask for in a weekend getaway. The amenities were luxurious and well supplied, including a huge spa bath, modern kitchen (dishwasher, fridge, microwave and coffee machine) and washer and dryer. The bed was made up with Sheridan sheets, electric blankets and fresh fluffy towels. A gas fireplace, multiple heaters throughout the house and a split air-conditioning system kept us warm all weekend. We began our trip with an ambling walk along the beautiful ‘Goldfield’s Track’, directly adjacent to the front porch. This scenic track delivered spectacular wildlife, including kangaroos, wallabies and varied birds. We were also stoked to explore a gorgeous ruin left from the Goldrush era. After our walk, we enjoyed a glass of red on the porch, watching the chattering galahs, cockatoos and crimson rosellas in the gum trees. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we filled the spa bath up and blissed out to music over the excellent sound system speakers. The following day we explored the town of Castlemaine, including Goldrush diggings sites, the gorgeous art gallery, Wesley Hill market, the old Gaol and ‘The Mill’. Other hilights of our stay included all the minute details of the house, such as original plasterwork, a bountiful lemon tree, flowering magnolia, handpicked artwork, a well appointment bookcase, large plasma TV and the warmest, most comfortable bathrobes ever. Could not recommend Henrietta’s or its humble host, Kerri, more highly. If you are looking for the perfect weekend away from city life with a slice of true Australiana, this it it. Thank you once again for such a wonderful stay.

Had a great stay at Henriettas! So private and cosy, not really big screen telly people so after dinner we perused the bookshelf instead, put the stereo on, dinner and wines by the fireplace. Bathroom mural is beautiful, quality everything. Loved it!

We had a wonderful anniversary weekend staying at Henrietta’s. Very clean, very comfortable, a lovely place to wake up in, have breakfast in, relax in, sleep in. We had the property to ourselves and total privacy. The heating makes the place nice and warm in the Castlemaine winter. Difficult to get out of bed as it was all too comfortable. The décor of the house is beautifully eclectic, and the bathroom, kitchen and lounge covered all our needs plus more, (loved the towels and sheets, the enormous fridge, we went to Wesley Hill markets and into town, cooked ourselves a fabulous dinner in the kitchen). The spa is great (love the wine glass holders!) and the bathroom very stylish. Garden outlooks from every window, the property is very established, you can feel the history. Only about 2 minutes drive from Castlemaine. Thankyou for a perfect getaway, we will be back!

As a first time stay in an Airbnb place, I have to say it was an easy and pleasant experience. Kerri was warm, friendly and helpful. No fuss at all. Too easy. The house is really lovely and it’s accurately described, with a stylish and charming, vintage, sort of Art-Deco feel. Country warmth with a nice combination of an elegant but charming homely sort of place, with character. We loved the ambience in the lounge room! It’s cool in Castlemaine in autumn but the various heaters warmed the whole house. The house is nice and quiet with plenty of places to relax. It would be really great in summer with lots of outdoor entertainment areas or sit with a quiet drink places with serene views. Our little dog loved the place too, with so much garden to sniff! The large back courtyard is totally secure so we could let him run. Chewton is a charming little town not far from Castlemaine. We had no trouble filling in the days with some beautiful walking trails and interesting places to visit. We found some great historic sites in the bush. Honestly, we would have been content staying in all weekend though. Highly recommended for a quiet week or weekend away. All in all, like a long weekend away in a friend’s home. Our stay was much too short, but just what the doctor ordered. We’d love to come back!

Henrietta’s is beautiful. Exactly as described, no, it’s better. We were there in time to see the magnolia in full bloom and it’s glorious from the front porch. The roses are not yet going, but from how may are there, it’ll be magnificent later in spring. Red wines by the fireplace, and in the spa, and on the porch, we ate out in Castlemaine though the kitchen looked magnificent. Everything is taken care of. So interesting to read about the property and see the archaeology from the gardens on display too. Loved it. We went bushwalking on the trails just across the road, there were plenty of maps provided in the lounge. Would highly recommend to a friend. Thankyou for a glorious weekend!

We love this place it is perfect! So much country charm, and all the mod cons and luxuries of the city and Crabtree and Evelyn in the bathroom, Sheridan in the bedroom, views you don’t want to leave and just all so charming. Loved the spa bath and the fireplace, the gardens are gorgeous. Great kitchen for cooking too. So fresh and clean but so much history I want to move in! We have found our new favourite getaway!
